Our schedule will look like this:
January 7: We’ll begin by talking about Monica Wood’s How to Read a Book: a Novel.
January 14: This Other Eden, by Paul Harding
January 21: The Road to Dalton, by Shannon Bowring
January 28: Fire Exit, but Morgan Talty
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!
Those four novels are my picks; my hope is that each of you will start reading and browsing recently written poetry and prose. Ideally, we’ll be able to share the work either digitally or as paper copies.
So that means sending me links or scans, ahead of time if possible, allowing others to read your choices before we meet. But, not to worry, reading them day of is fine.
Having something on the 7th would be ideal, so if any of you would like to volunteer for that day, we’ll be off and running.
I know, for example, that at least one of you has read or is planning on reading Elizabeth Strout’s new book. A summary and copied chapter might be a real treat (any of the local libraries can help you with scanning or copying).
Please send me any of your questions, tips, comments. I’m at margery.irvine@gmail.com.
I’m looking forward to seeing you on January 7th at 10 AM. If the weather outside is frightful. . .Zoom is delightful.
